Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 75 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
Another milder summer day.Small hoppers with droppers are key as hatches have dwindled. There will be a few midges and micro caddis here and there very early in the morning and later in the day, but the main surface activity is on terrestrials.
Subsurface fishing is best on thin bodied nymphs and midge larvae.
Recent rains have missed us for the most part, leaving our creeks clear to slightly stained. Water temps are in the mid 50s to 60s.
Sun is the limiting factor right now. Fish early and late and find shade to catch more fish!
