Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 73 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
Wispy clouds today will provide some break from the sun. The sun is still the limiting factor. While it has not shut down mid day fishing completely, it has a noticable impact. Find shade and fish early/late for your best chance for success. The bug soup is still going on with hatches of craneflies, caddis, yellow sallies, midges, lighter colored mayflies, and midges. Don't neglect the spinner fall in the evening!
Trout are also eating beetles very well on the surface.
The best news about the hatches is that fish are not fussy subsurface. The trend is to smaller and more subtle patterns when the sun is on the water, then pretty much anything you drift by them when the sun is off the water!
Creeks are low and clear with water temps in the mid to high 50s.
