Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 77 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

The sun is shining today, which means you need to find some shade especially mid day.  Expect spookier fish with clear water and sunny skies.
Forecasted for some rain tomorrow, nothing that should muddy up the creeks though.
The major hatches are fading.  There are still midges in the mornings that will have fish rising, and craneflies/caddis/light colored mayflies in the evenings too.  To fill the center of the day on the surface, terrestrials have been excellent.  Ants, beetles, and  small hoppers.
Subsurface fishing is trending towards smaller, thinner bodied bugs, although scuds and squirrels are still working.
Fishing at dawn and dusk with leeches, and at night with mice, has been a ton of fun this week!
