Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 66 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.

Very good fishing lately thanks to some rain and cloud cover.
the recent rains have not been heavy enough or lasted long enough to muddy things up.  They have, however, bumped the creeks up to more normal levels.  Overall creeks are clear to slightly stained with temperatures in the 50s.
Cooler temps this weekend with highs in the mid 60s.  This will not affect the caddis hatch which has been good lately with tan caddis in the mid day, and black caddis on some creeks in the evenings.
We are also seeing crane flies hatching area wide.
Subsurface fishing has been strong on scuds, crane fly larvae, caddis pupae and mergers, and thicker bodied flies in size 14-18.
Leeches, streamers, and mice are a lot of fun to fish when the sun is off the water!
