Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 71 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

Some much needed rain fell last night.  Only an inch or so which will not significantly muddy and creeks up, but will put some water into the system.
Caddis have been the meal of choice lately with a few blacks still around, and quite a few tan caddis hatching daily.  Look for spalshy rise forms and don't forget to fish in the riffles.
Craneflies and smaller terrestrials are also working well on the surface.
Subsurface fishing has been crazy good on scuds all season long.  Thicker patterns, such as a brush hog or cranefly larvae have been very effective too.
When the sun is off the water, leeches streamers and even mice have been catching aggressive fish.
