Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 48 ℉, condition: Dust.
A bit of rain over the past 24 hours (about an inch total) has given us cloud cover, but not stained the water significantly. Expect clear to stained waters area wide. Water temperatures are in the high 40s to mid 50s.These cloudy days have given us olive hatches and more rising fish! They will suppress the black caddis hatch a bit, but not having the sun shine on the water is a good thing right now.
Fish are happily eating scuds, pink belly pheasant tail nymphs, frenchies, and leeches subsurface. They will start rising in the mid day to olives and midges.
