Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 45 ℉, condition: Windy.
Clouds are finally here! After gorgeous weather for most of the early season (which has also made the fishing rough!) couds and drizzle are finally here.
The rain last night did nothing to impact stream clarity or flows, they are still low and clear, but the cloud cover will help fishing quite a bit!
Water temps are in the mid 40s to 50s.
There are a ton of bugs on the rocks, just waiting to hatch. We have seen very small hatches of olives, black caddis, and even stoneflies the past couple of days. Midges are still hatching and egg laying daily.
Subsurface fishing has been good on scuds, and heavy pheasant tail type nymphs as well as leeches.
