Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 57 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

What a morning in the Driftless!
Warmer weather all week this week means we will see more midge hatches and we should start to see olives hatching as well.  Things have been good fishing wise, a small bump up in water temperature and it will really start to pick up!
After a chilly weekend, our water temperatures are still in the low to mid 40s on average.   Creeks are still low and clear and the fish are spooky in the sunny, open areas.
Fishing has been best on scuds, leeches, pheasant tail nymphs, and other small, dark bead heads.
Fish are rising in the afternoons to midges, and we did see a handful of mayflies over the weekend.
