Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 67 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
SEASON ENDS AT THE END OF THIS MONTH. GO FISH!Clouds this morning then clearing in the afternoon.
Creeks are clear area wide and flowing cold, with temperatures in the low 50s to low 60s. Cooler nights and mild days have made for incredible fishing.
Olives (pseudos) are hatching daily. The hatch is much stronger on cloudy days, but even in the sun we are seeing emergences in the later afternoon/early evening.
The terrestrial bite is back on track after a few cold and drizzly days. Look for them to warm up mid morning, then catch fish all day.
Subsurface fishing has been hot on scuds, squirrels, thin bodied and dark bead head nymphs, and leeches.
Mousing has also really picked up lately.
