Driftless Area

Rating: 5, temperature: 74 ℉, condition: Flurries.

The unbelievable cool summer weather continues.
Fishing has been outstanding for July and it looks like cool weather will hold through the next week or so!
There have been fish rising to tricos in the mornings on some streams.
Mid day fishing a hopper with a dropper in deeper water or a smaller ant or beetle pattern in the riffles has been quite effective.
Subsurface fishing has been best on midge larvae, scuds, and heavy tungsten flies.
In the evenings, fish are starting to aggressively hit streamers and leeches.
