Driftless Area
Rating: 5, temperature: 78 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
Water is clear and cold. Streams that are normally too warm to fish this time of season are at 60 degrees!Fishing has been excellent. We have started to see the first swarms of tricos in the mornings. Hoppers, ants and beetles have been strong mid day, and there are midges, a few lighter colored mayflies and even some caddis in the late evenings.
Subsurface fishing has been solid on thin profile flies and midge larvae.
The streams are flowing and fishing much more like mid June than mid July!
