Driftless Area

Rating: 4, temperature: 81 ℉, condition: Flurries.

If you are out of the sun, you will catch fish.
We did not get any rain recently, leaving streams clear to stained area wide.  The clear streams are fishing best when the sun is off the water, the stained streams give us a bit more flexibility throughout the day.
Dry flies are working, especially ants and beetles mid day, and lighter colored mayflies and caddis in the evenings.
Subsurface fishing has been best on pink squirrels, leeches, and other thick bodied nymphs in stained water, and midge larvae and pheasant tails in the clearer waters.
