Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 80 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

Fishing remains solid thanks to last weeks rains.  Waters are clear to stained with temperatures in the mid 50s to mid 60s.
Caddis and lighter colored mayflies are hatching in the evening when the sun is off the water.  During the day terrestrials are working very well as indicator flies that the fish will eat.
Subsurface fishing has been great on Coulee Scuds, Frenchies, and Brush Hogs, as well as midge larvae.
In the stained water, black leeches are doing the trick.
Don't forget to move your flies!  Movement is a trigger this time of season that will help you catch more fish.
Also, with the sun high in the sky, focus your efforts on shady areas.
