Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 71 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
Bright and sunny, but outside a few hours mid day, the fish don't seem to care!Fish are feeding well subsurface on the classics; prince nymphs, pheasant tails, partridge and orange soft hackles, as well as pink squirrels and scuds. Having a bit of subtle flash in the fly, as well as twitching your fly, seems to be key underwater right now.
Surface fishing is also solid as we have seen a slight hatch of caddis (both black and tan) as well as the continuation of craneflies.
Don't forget terrestrials as ants, beetles, and even large indicator flies have been catching fish too.
