Driftless Area

Rating: 2, temperature: 44 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

Warm weather and light precipitation the past couple of days have streams high, cold, and in some cases murky.  There is fishable water, and some streams have no snow on the banks anymore!
Today will be warmer and continue the snow melt.  Fishing in the mornings, when the melting has slowed down, will be best.  Murky water is not the problem.  When the snow melts is puts cold water into the system which shuts fish down.  Make sure to use your thermometer.
Midges are still working well, but we are finding more and more fish eating thicker bodied bugs such as pink squirrels, weight flies, and she-hulks.  Leeches and streamers are also very good right before waters rise from snowmelt.
