Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 36 ℉, condition: Thunder Storms.
UPDATE: 2:20--- Streams starting to show some color. Precipitation this morning plus melting yesterday has started some light runoff. Things should stabilize quickly. We will keep you posted.Wintry mix throughout the day today. If it stays snow and not rain it will keep snowmelt from cooling and muddying things up. Yesterday was a great melting day, making the snow on the banks less of a hurdle.
We still have some clear waters and most everything is fishable. Just make sure you use your thermometer as melting yesterday and today has put some very cold water into the system. 40 degrees or nearby is optimal.
Fish are stll eating midge larvae, but are switching to more scuds and pink squirrels.
