Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 43 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.

Melting day today with temps reaching into the low to mid 40s.  If we get any rain (50/50 chance) then we will see some muddy water.  Otherwise, the streams are clear to cloudy right now and only a few will get murky from snowmelt this afternoon.
Fish have been feeding well on midge larvae and smaller, thick bodied patterns such as scuds and pink squirrels.  In the warmer waters (40 degrees and up) they will happily chase leeches and streamers.
Remember your thermometer as the closer to 40 degrees or warmer the water, the better the fishing.
