Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 41 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
Fishing has been good for early season! It all comes down to water temperature. Close to, or above 40 is the key. Otherwise fish will be lethargic.Midges are hatching mid day and on the warmer streams, fish are rising to them.
Scuds, midge larvae, leeches, pink squirrels and other thicker bodied bead heads have been catching fish.
Streams are clear with the exception of a couple. Keep your thermometer handy and measure that water temperature!
