Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 48 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

Warm weather and a slow melt have the fish and fishing starting to get good this early season.
Waters are clear and temperatures are in the high 30s to mid 40s area wide.
With the snow melt, fishing will slow down in the later afternoon as cold water enters the system.  Morning and mid day we are seeing midge hatches and winter stoneflies emerging.
Fish are feeding on scuds, midges, leeches, and flashy bead heads.  Most fish are still prodded up in deeper pools and runs.
