Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 66 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
The rain last night totalled only a quarter to half an inch. Not enough to mess up fishing however as our streams are slightly stained to clear. We will have cool and clear weather throughout the weekend.Cloud cover will be spotty today, but fishing will be much better when the clouds are in. Tricos are around on pretty much every stream with a few fish rising to spinners in the mornings, while olives are hatching throughout the day when cloud cover is present.
Terrestrials (hoppers, large beetles, and cinnamon ants) are great right now when fished right up against the bank. A hopper with a pink squirrel dropper has been excellent on guide trips lately.
Leeches and streamers have been producing in the cloudy water.
