Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 75 ℉, condition: Flurries.
Up to an inch of rain last night. The rain will not adversely impact streams. Expect clear to slightly stained water today.Fishing was difficult yesterday with the sun and wind, today will be a bit better with some cloud cover.
The terrestrial bite is back on thanks to some warmer and breezy days. Fishing a hopper/dropper throughout the day is still very effective. There are olives hatching when the sun is not shining directly on the water too. Clouds will make this hatch really get moving.
Subsurface fishing has been best on heavy, thin, and dark bodied nymphs. Scuds and hare's ear nymphs have also been effective as has dragging a leech or bugger through the deeper pools and underneath the banks and overhanging vegetation.
