The warm weather is gone again!High in the 80s and even low 70s on Labor day will translate to much happier trout, and much happier anglers as it will be comfortable to fish all day.
Terrestrials have been invigorated lately by the warm weather, and the hopper bite has finally turned on. Fishing a hopper with a bead head dropper tight against the bank when the sun is out has been deadly with some nice fish eating the hopper.
For the fussier trout, ants and beetles are working on the surface, and tiny bead head nymphs and scuds are getting eaten on the bottom.
Tricos will return with the cooler weather, and fish are feeding on midges and some tiny mayfly emergers early and late.
