Driftless Area
Rating: 2, temperature: 83 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
Cooler today,Water temps are still up and will take a couple of nights to cool down again or some rain we are looking at getting hopefully in the next couple of days.
Fishing is best early and late and on the smaller, headwater streams closer to the springs.
Remember your thermometer! When water temps reach 65 the fishing will shut down. Anything above that can be lethal to trout.
Terrestrials are great in the early morning and into the evening, while fish will be rising to emergers and tiny dries at first light, then again at last light.
Subsurface bugs have been most effective when they are tiny. Scuds and squirrels are a close second.
