Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 81 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

UPDATE 8:00 a.m.---  Rain just got heavy.  Thundershower over the area will stain up the water this morning.  We should be in great shape in the p.m. with high and stained water!  We will keep you updated.

Light soaking rain last night, and scattered showers this morning will keep temps down most of the day.  The clouds and drizzle will clear out about lunchtime today.
The rains were not enough to muddy anything up.  Expect clear and low water (normal summer conditions) area wide.
Water temps are in the high 50s to low 60s.  With some recent warmer weather, please use your thermometer.  Anything over 65 will be poor fishing, and anything near 70 can be lethal to trout.
Olives were hatching like crazy last night with the clouds and rain.  When clouds are in the area, expect to see olives.  Otherwise surface fishing with ants, beetles, and large attractor patterns has been good, especially with a bead head tied below.
Subsurface fishing has been best on scuds, micro nymphs, and midge larvae.
