Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 76 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
Clear and sunny day today. Fish early, fish late and chase the shade.Water is still in great condition. Only a couple streams are warm thanks to great summer temps. Things start to cool down again this evening leading into the weekend.
Tricos and midges are on the menu in terms of aquatic insects, but the main food source is terrestrials. Hoppers, ants, beetles and crickets are great right now, especially when you hang a small bead head below.
Subsurface fishing is best with scuds, midge larvae, and other thin bodied nymphs, especially with a little flash.
