Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 85 ℉, condition: Flurries.

A couple of cool days and nights over the weekend as well as some light showers have the fish very happy.
Today will be the warmest day of the week with a high of 85.  The rest of the week it cools down again with daytime in the mid to upper 70s and nights right around 60.  This is excellent summer weather!
Outside of terrestrials getting fish to eat on the surface, we have been seeing midges and olives hatching, especially in the evenings.
Subsurface fishing has been great on heavy flies rolled along the bottom during the sunny part of the day, and small, thin bodied nymphs at dawn and dusk, or when you are fishing a shady area.
Leeches, streamers and mice have been a lot of fun lately.  Your best bet is to fish them when the sun is off the water.
