The bad news, it is still going to be warm today. The good news, Saturday and Sunday will have highs in the high 70s. A very welcome cold front after a brutally hot week.It rained a bit this morning helping to cool things down and put some much needed moisture into the ground. Today will be hot and humid, so fish early and late and find some shade to cool down.
Fishing has been quite good when the weather is not keeping anglers, and trout searching for shade. Remember to have a thermometer handy as fishing slows down when water temps are 65+ and can be lethal at 70+.
There is still not major aquatic insect activity right now, so most of the surface fishing is still on smaller terrestrials (ants/beetles) as well as small hoppers.
Subsurface fishing is on tiny, thin bodied flies and scuds.
Mice and streamers have been good in the evenings too.
