Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 87 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

Fishing has been very good lately, mornings and evenings and shaded areas being the best times to be out.  You can catch fish mid day, but it is warm and very humid!
Terrestrials have been the key to getting fish on the surface.  From tiny ants and beetles, to large chernobyl ant patterns on top, fish are eating terrestrials.  Hanging a bead head nymph below a buoyant foam fly is a great way to fish in the summer time.
Subsurface fishing has been excellent on smaller scuds, midge larvae, and thin bodied bead head flies with flash.  Tungsten beads are not a bad idea as they get the flies down to fish fast.
