Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 75 ℉, condition: Fog.

Rain this morning, which should taper off by late morning.  The ground is saturated and we should see a bit of a stain on the water temporarily, but everything should be fishable today.  We will keep you updated as the rain falls.
Fishing the past couple of days has been quite good, especially when the sun is off the water.  Water levels, clarity and temperature are excellent for June so far, and the fish are very happy.
Hatches include sulphurs, yellow sallies, midges, tan caddis, craneflies, and even a few BWOs on cloudy days.  Fish are rising well and looking up, especially in the evenings and a well drifted dry fly (including beetles, ants and foam attractors) will get eaten quickly.
Subsurface fishing is also solid.  When the sun is up, a deep fishing bottom rolling fly has been great.  With some shade or cloud cover a twitched scud or smaller nymph has been excellent.
