Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 67 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

Waters are cool, flowing well, and crystal clear to slightly stained.
We have started to see our late spring bugs, lighter colored mayflies, yellow sallies, and even a hopper here and there lately.  Craneflies are still the major hatch with fish eating them very well.  It is hard to find a rising fish that will refuse a cranefly.
Subsurface fishing is still strong on gray scuds, pheasant tails, pink squirrels.
