Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 76 ℉, condition: Flurries.

The larger bodies of water are stained to milky, while the smaller streams are stained and dropping this morning.  The storm last night just touched us and did not put a huge amount of rain into the system.
There is a smaller chance of more rain this afternoon, but the weekend is now looking good.
In the murkier water, fishing larger nymphs and scuds, san juan worms, and black leeches is effective.
In the clearer water; scuds, prince nymphs, gray bead head nymphs, and midges are effective sub surface.  The hatches are craneflies area wide, caddis (both tan and black) on the Coulees, and we have just started to see our lighter colored mayflies show up in the evenings.
