Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 62 ℉, condition: Dust.
Waters have dropped and cleared significantly from yesterday. There was clear, fishable water yesterday afternoon and today expexct stained to clear water area wide.Fish are feeding well on craneflies and midges on the surface, as well as smaller terrestrials and foam 'indicator' flies. Caddis have been sparse, but a gray or brown caddis dry will pick up fish.
Subsurface fishing is still best on gray bodied, fuzzy nymphs as well as thin bodied midges and mayfly patterns.
Leeches have been fantastic, especially in darker water and when the clouds are in the area.
