Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 81 ℉, condition: Flurries.

Cloudy and a chance of storms today.  Some heavy rain last night will have streams up a bit and stained to clear first thing this morning.
We are still in the thick of our cranefly and caddis hatches, and the fish have been more than happy to eat!  Splashy rises, chasing down soft hackles and streamers, and feeding heavily on nymphs.
Water temps are great, hovering in the mid 40s to mid 50s even with some really hot, sunny days.
The bankside vegetation is still low, with a few signs of filling out, and morels are just starting to be spotted.
