Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 66 ℉, condition: Dust.

Cloudy and drizzly today.  A needed break from the high sun in the sky.
Caddis have been hatching, and fish have started to move up into the riffles to feed.  A foam pattern with a small dropper in the riffles has been very effective.
Subsurface flies have been best in smaller sizes 16-20 and fished slowly in the deeper pools and lunker structures.
Streamers and leeches will be very effective today too while the clouds stay overhead.
