Driftless Area
Rating: 2, temperature: 36 ℉, condition: Dust.
The good news is the major storm skirted just south and west of Viroqua! As of this morning only 1/10th of an inch of new rainfall was reported. Streams had a chance to drop for most of the day yesterday, and will continue to do so throughout today. The streams to the north of the shop should be in better shape due to lack of rain.Looking at the radar today, most of the rainfall is north of us. It should drizzle on and off today with nothing heavy falling, hopefully.
There was fishable water yesterday, but it was in the headwaters and spring feeders. Today should see more water fishable and clearing.
Scuds, San Juan worms, leeches, pink squirrels and other larger profile bugs will work in the murky water. The water that is clearer will do better with smaller and thinner patterns (red headed step child, hot spot pheasant tail, midge larvae).
Water temps stayed normal as the precipitation was rainfall and not a large amount of snow melt. They are still in the low to mid 40s.
