Driftless Area

Rating: 2, temperature: 32 ℉, condition: Cloudy.

A cold night last night locked up the melting we had over the last couple of days.  Despite a couple of warm days and rain, we still had fishable water all weekend, just not a lot of it!
Streams will drop and clear over the next few days, especially with cooler weather keeping the remaining snow locked up on the hillsides.
Fish in stained to cloudy water are going nuts for leeches and streamers as well as san juan worms and larger scuds.
In the clearer water, smaller scuds, nymphs, and leeches are getting fish to eat.  Look for risers in the flats below pools over the  next couple of sunny days!
Water temps have dropped due to snow melt and are again hovering at the 40-45 degree mark.
