Driftless Area

Rating: 2, temperature: 35 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.

Slow melt over the weekend means roads are finally clear, and we had more water trickling into the ground.  The temperature will be slightly above freezing again today.
The ground is not frozen and the melting is very slow so far.  All good news for opener on March 2nd.
There were midges hatching mid day yesterday area wide.
Iowa fishing has been decent, with a few risers on sunny afternoons, but most of the activity this time of year is sub surface on scuds and pink squirrels.
