Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 87 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
Hot and sunny today, with the wind switching to the North in the afternoon. Thankfully this wind will blow in cooler temps over the holiday weekend!Fishing has been good lately on small dry flies throughout most of the day, but the real action is when the sun is off the water.
Terrestrials have been working very well too with smaller hoppers to tiny ants getting the attention of trout.
Subsurface fishing has been best on pink squirrels and micro mayflies.
Water is low and clear, and water temps have been surprisingly stable with the recent hot weather. Still, you should remeber to use your thermometer as some streams are still running too warm to be safe for fish to be caught.
