Summer fishing in the Driftless. Trico spinner fall in the morning on some streams, although it has been in decline for a few days. Small terrestrials in wooded areas and near bluff faces. Hoppers and crickets in the meadows.The evening brings fish out for a blue winged olive hatch during the last hour or two of daylight.
Subsurface fishing has been best on micro nymphs and midge larvae, as well as small scuds rolled along the bottom.
