Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 74 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.

Another great summer day in the Driftless.  Cloudy in the morning with the possibility of more drizzle, then mostly cloudy in the afternoon.
The cool weather and cloud cover have been excellent for fishing with fish much more comfortable throughout the day.  A few olives have been hatching with the overcast skies, but the main food is still terrestrials.
We are fishing hopper dropper throughout the day, until we see fish rising.  For the packs of rising fish, a small blue winged olive, midge, or tiny emerger does the trick.
Water temps are good overall, except on a couple of streams.  It is still a good idea to carry your thermometer and check just in case.
