Driftless Area

Rating: 4, temperature: 72 ℉, condition: Windy.

Great summer fishing with the cooler weather, cloud cover and drizzle today.
Fish have been eating tiny stuff in the mornings and evenings with the trico spinner fall still happening in the mornings (although starting to lessen) and a handful of olives during the cloudy periods.
Terrestrial fishing is still best with ants, crickets, hoppers and beetles going strong.
Tying a slim bodied nymph below the terrestrial, or fishing it behind a heavily weighted scud, has also been very effective.
If enough rain falls and we get a stain on the water, look for fish to eat more scuds and leeches.
