Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 82 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.

The cooler nights have revived the trico spinner fall, as well as given us much happier fish.  The rises to terrestrials are less sluggish, and more zoom across the stream and crush the tan hopper!
Today should be overcast and scattered showers.  Perfect fishing weather.
Besides the trico hatch, things have been going well on terrestrials, ants and beetles under the trees, and hoppers fished in the meadows.
Hanging a slim bodied nymph behind your terrestrial will up your chances at catching fish.
Water is low and clear, but temps have dipped quite a bit with the cooler night time temps.  Fishing all day this weekend was great.
Next week we are back to normal summer conditions and back to fishing 9-5 mornings and evenings.
