Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 77 ℉, condition: Flurries.

Cooler nights and days over the weekend will put fish in a better mood, open up more fishing during the day, and bring the trico spinner fall back to a peak.
Fishing has been good early with small, dark bodied bugs then fish have switched to eating terrestrials with small, slim bead heads tied below them.  Nothing too fancy fly wise under these conditions.
Streams are still low and clear.  The rain that hit Fennimore missed roughly north of the Wisconsin River.
Water temps are still summer temps so remember to have a thermometer handy.  Over 65 degrees is slow fishing, over 70 can be lethal to trout.
