Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 80 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
Spotty cloud cover and cool temperatures should have fish happy again today. Fish have been feeding well on the surface, especially in shaded areas and in the morning and evening.Small and dark flies are fishing well in the morning, specifically midges and olives.
Terrestrials have been great all day long with fish feeding aggressively on them in many cases swimming out of cover to slam a hopper!
In the evenings we have our best surface activity with fish sipping midges and rising for craneflies and other light bodied bugs.
Below the surface fish are eating micro nymphs (especially tungsten bead nymphs fished on the bottom) and smaller scuds.
