Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 90 ℉, condition: Flurries.

Another hot day today, but relief coming in the form of a cold front later today will change things and bring some light rain (storms should begin around one or two this afternoon).
Mornings have been good, and the evening rise has been  excellent.  Fish are feeding best when the sun is off the water.
Hatches in the evening include midges, craneflies, and a few light colored mayflies coming off.  Smaller attractor patterns and terrestrials are working too (as well as being great for hopper/dropper mid day).
Morning fish are feeding on small stuff, something with a tiny shilouette (midge, bwo etc) will catch fish on the surface.
Subsurface flies are thin bodied and smaller right now.
Leeches are working on cooler streams, and mice have been fun in the evenings.
Remember to bring a thermometer.  Anything above 65 degrees will be rough fishing, and anything approaching the 70s can be harmful to trout.
