Driftless Area

Rating: 4, temperature: 87 ℉, condition: Partly Cloudy.

Great fishing early and late.  Another sunny and windy day (winds from the south) and hot.  Do not forget to drink plenty of water and stay cool today.
The early bite has been good, with a lull mid day as water temperatures climb.  During mid day fish are eating terrestrials in shaded areas.  Fishing is good again around 5 as the sun comes off the water and water temps drop.  This is when the hatches are showing up.
Caddis, Sulphurs, yellow Sallies, all are available right now.  Subsurface fishing has been best on thin bodied mayfly nymphs and midge larvae, as well as on scuds.
