Driftless Area

Rating: 4, temperature: 43 ℉, condition: Partly Cloudy.

Windy again today, with the bothersome north west wind which makes finding a shelter difficult.  Drifts on the surface can be extremely difficult, however subsurface fishing with leeches, scuds, and midge larvae was excellent under the same conditions yesterday.
Streams that have a bit of timber on the bank, or have a bluff face on them do help to tame the gusty winds a bit.
After a chilly night, there is no need to be on the water first thing in the morning, let things warm up a bit.
Water is low and clear, and water temperatures are in the high 40s to 50s.
