Fishing is still quite good, but with unstable weather it has been a bit less predictable.Fish are still rising in the afternoons when the water warms up a touch after chilly nights. We have been doing best on generalist flies such as adams and para-wulffs in purple.
In the late afternoon fish seem to be feeding the best. Fishing with an indicator dry (we have still been catching fish on big ugly foam patterns) with a nymph dropper has been great.
Subsurface fishing has also been good on heavy tungsten bead nymphs and scuds.
Hatches include midges, olives, and craneflies. With the cooler temperatures the caddis are not showing up as frequently, but the rocks on the stream bed are teeming with caddis pupae which means the black caddis hatch is right around the corner!
