Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 66 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
No significant rain at all yesterday and last night (the meter at the Viroqua airport read 0.01 inches) means streams are all clear!Fishing has been great with lots of surface activity on olives, and larger attractor patterns (our guides have caught fish on hoppers and beetles). Fishing a dry/dropper right now is deadly.
Water temps are in the mid 40s to mid 50s and the streams are alive with activity.
Today and Saturday will have some cloud cover, which is a welcome break from the clear and sunny days we have had. Look for fish to be feeding in the riffles and dropping back into the runs when the hatch comes off.
