Welcome to March, it will be in the high 70s today!Fishing has acted much more like late spring and early summer lately with fish active early, then a bit shy in the mid day sun. In the evenings they have been rising up to dark on midges and olives. The only hurdle today to great March fishing will be a gusty south wind.
Look for decent hatches of midges and olives and fish rising throughout the day, especially in shaded areas.
Sub surface fishing has been even better, with fish eating midge larvae and pupae, scuds, caddis larvae, and thin bodied nymphs with a dark color.
Leeches have been extremely effective lately in smaller waters.
